Gen FUTURE

Gen FUTURE - Licensing Policy

Clear rules for reuse, attribution, derivatives, and commercial permission for Gen FUTURE publications.

Summary

Gen FUTURE publications are intended to be read, shared, and built upon responsibly. The default license across Gen FUTURE content is: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

Commercial use requires explicit permission.
If your use is commercial or connected to paid products, services, training, consulting, or monetized distribution, contact the author first.

This policy is written to reduce ambiguity. If a scenario is unclear, treat it as commercial and request permission.

Default license

Unless a specific page or document states otherwise, Gen FUTURE content is licensed under: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

Term Meaning Practical implication
BY (Attribution) You must give appropriate credit and indicate changes. Always include author and source, and label modifications.
NC (NonCommercial) Use is not permitted primarily for commercial advantage or monetary compensation. Paid products, monetized distribution, consulting bundles, training programs require permission.
SA (ShareAlike) Adaptations must be shared under the same license. If you remix or translate, you must publish under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 as well.

Allowed without permission

The following uses are generally permitted under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, provided attribution is correct and the use is non-commercial.

Rule of thumb:
If nobody is paying and nothing is monetized, it is likely non-commercial. If money, sponsorship, ads, sales, or paid access are involved, request permission.

Attribution requirements

Attribution must be clear, visible, and durable. Do not hide it in metadata only.
